In 1972, the crew of Apollo 16 photographed UFOs. For many years, a flyby of the moon was thought to have captured an unrealistic aerial phenomenon.

Looking at the image of the object, it appears to be a traditional saucer-shaped container with a dome on top. Astronauts Thomas Mattingly, Charles Duke and John Young recorded the anomaly with a 16mm camera, according to the British Express.

Looking at the image of the object, it appears to be a traditional saucer-shaped container with a dome on top. Astronauts Thomas Mattingly, Charles Duke and John Young recorded the anomaly with a 16mm camera, according to the British Express.

“Although only about four seconds long, the video has been controversial for years. The way the UFO was filmed, it seemed like it was going in and out of the frame.”

There are some interesting theories as to what this object could be. Even the Science Channel program, Unidentified NASA Documents, delved into the mystery. Engineer Jim Oberg, who works for the space agency, believes it is an ” image of Earth ” seen from the Moon.

However, if this is the case, our planet is not positioned where it should be. Oberg admitted that he made a mistake when a UFO expert pointed out the fact. It wasn’t until the early 2000s that archival material was thoroughly analyzed due to great advances in image analysis.

Finally, the question of whether something captured on film is extraterrestrial can be answered. What NASA does is basically combine different frames and increase the resolution to be able to see things that were previously imperceptible to the naked eye.
